iTunes  
iTunes is the largest online retailer for consumers to buy and download music. Bands and artists can sign up with digital music distributors who will get your music on iTunes. 
 
Amazon  
Amazon is one of the largest online retailers for music. Bands can get their music on Amazon by signing up with digital music distributors. 
 
Zune  
Zune is a music player from Microsoft that also has a retail store for music that millions of consumers use to buy music. Bands can get their music in the Zune retail store by contacting their digital distributor. 
 
Emusic  
They do not allow independent artists to directly sell their music on Emusic. You have to be an independent label to list your music.
 
lala  
Lala is an online music store that receives digital feeds from all four major labels and numerous independent labels and digital distributors. Lala lets music fans listen to 6 million songs for free and then buy them if they want. There are no ads or subscriptions for fans to deal with. If you are signed to a label and can't find your music contact your label. If you don't have a label you can add your music by signing up with a digital distributor (lala works with tunecore and cd baby which you can find on this MusicNomad page). Lala allows you to embed your music on other websites for your friends and fans to play and then buy.  
 
Spotify   Free Service
Spotify is a way for consumers to search any track, artist or genre and play it for free. They can also buy it as MP3's. At first it was limited to major and indie record label artists but now indie artists can submit their music to get on Spotify. The programs to submit are thru Tunecore or CD Baby. Right now the service is not available for US consumers just Europe but bands should get their music on there to help reach new fans and sales.
