S.M.G. Inc. (Smith Music Group) has successfully developed many artists and writers, most notably multi-Grammy winners/nominees Take 6, Brian McKnight, Brandon Barnes and Claire Lynch. Over the years, founder Doug Jansen Smith has captained success in talent development and artist management, as well as production, songwriting/publishing, engineering and studio management. Our experience ranges from small, local projects to international markets. Besides our award winning record production and publishing successes, we have been involved in soundtracks for major motion pictures and independent films -- national and internationally syndicated television & radio broadcasts -- audio-books and DVD projects -- as well as award winning commercial jingle-production and infomercials. We have worked with major artists spending hundreds of thousands of dollars and many aspiring artists with budgets of only a few hundred dollars. We have delivered successes in all genre’s of music, adhering to the client's budget and schedule and never sacrificing quality, or honest and friendly service. We have been leaders in our market since we began business in 1980 because we know our strength is not in the number of knobs and buttons, (although we have our share of those).
